There's a bunch of things that I've been anticipating for my exchange, ranging from studying on the beach in hammocks to going on hikes and touring the island. With that being said, over the past couple months leading up to my exchange, I've jotted down a list of goals I'd like to attain and things I'd like to partake in on my journey. I'm sure I'll be adding more to the list and checking things off as I go (the ones in bold are things I've done, and I'll write about my experience below it) so make sure to keep checking in!

Maintain a good GPA

Join a club (Gardening/Surfing/Intramural)

Wake up early

Journal daily

Stay active (10,000 steps a day, runs on the beach!)

With all the hills and walking, I'll be whipped right into shape by the time I'm done!

Go snorkeling

8/8 - 8/14

I went snorkeling so far at John Brewers Bay and I saw lots of turtles, stingrays and fish! I'm hoping to get an underwater camera to take pictures.

Do yoga on the beach

Visit Magen's Bay

Go surfing

Visit the Mountain Top

The mountain top was so incredibly beautiful! It's home to the famous banana daquiri which was super delicious (yes, I had to try it) and they had a cute souvenir shop too.

Go shopping

My recommendations:

  • Havensight mall/Yachthaven if you're looking for brand name stores and more expensive souvenirs

  • Waterfront also has brand name stores, but if you're looking for some cheaper souvenirs, head to the blue tent shops

  • Redhook in East End has some cute shops as well, my favorite store of there is Rhiannons, a crystal/metaphysical shop - a must if you're into that type of stuff. The owner is the sweetest, super accommodating and helpful!

  • If you end up taking a trip over to St. John, they have the best jewelry

Go to Paradise Point
